JSEC 11th Graders……..Here is a journalism scholarship opportunity for JSEC high school students.  Any JSEC Junior  can apply for a Journalism Scholarship and potentially win an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC .    Please read the scholarship information below:

                                                                     

In June 2023, we have our annual Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference for high school juniors. Students selected for the program receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the nation’s capital where they are introduced to top journalists from publications like The New York Times and The Boston Globe, as well as a $1,000 scholarship to the college of their choice. The program was established to inspire students to pursue journalism in 1999 to honor Al Neuharth, founder of The Freedom Forum and USA TODAY. The deadline to apply is March 1.

In sum:

*The annual Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference for high school juniors returns to the nation’s capital June 24-29, 2023.

*After three years of online meetings, the Freedom Forum is pleased to welcome students again to in-person activities including remarks from top journalists and visits to the U.S. Capitol and other landmarks in Washington, D.C.

*Students selected for the program receive an all-expenses-paid trip and a $1,000 scholarship to the college of their choice.

*High school juniors who will graduate in spring 2024 are encouraged to apply by March 1.
