JSEC Life Sciences Institute is partnering with the Feinstein Foundation to bring much needed resources to our JSEC Community. In a first-ever initiative like this, spearheaded by the 10th Grade Class Advisory Team, with Advisors Susan Garland and Charles Moreau, JSEC has rolled out it’s new GOLDEN TICKET INITIATIVE. This program’s goal is to motivate students to strive towards school wide goals while energizing them by giving them a chance to win and take home a gift card to Ocean State Job Lot so they can do a good deed for their family.
The initiative is a fun way we are addressing hunger in our community while tapping into key school wide goals relating to:
- Attendance
- Grades
- School Spirit
- Kindness
- Community Building
In a time when so many families are struggling to meet basic needs, this monthly program will offer a real boost, both practical and heartfelt. It was deeply moving to see students light up around generosity and care for their loved ones, echoing the spirit of many of them who had previously grew up as former Feinstein Junior scholars.
After months of planning, on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, the Golden Ticket Initiative at JSEC had it’s grand opening kickoff event. Students were led by the 10th Grade Student Council along with PASA’s AM Teen Workout Program. Students were dressed up in red shirts, golden hats, and gold bow ties with strings of golden tickets draped around their necks. These students welcomed students coming into school and gave each of the a Golden Raffle Ticket. Students completed them and then dropped them into a Golden Ticket Raffle Box and were told that in 24 hours, or the next morning, Golden Ticket Winners would be announced. Kids were excited and very happy to hear that they could win one of many $50 Gift Cards for their families. You really could feel an excitement in the air and one of the best parts about this was students were all talking about it. They were psyched to hear that their would be even more Golden Ticket Raffles and contests each month until the end of the school year.
Eight winners of the contest, of whom all came to school on time and stayed in school the entire day, were announced the next day and all recipients came to the Golden Ticket Winners Circle to have their photo taken and received their prize. This Golden Ticket Campaign will run throughout the year, and is an initiative to reward kids who are doing the right thing here at JSEC. As forementioned the $50 Gift Card is a way for our students to do a good deed for their families such as purchase groceries, buy a meal, or other said items to improve the lives of our families.

The 10th Grade Team will be working with Guidance for February’s Golden Ticket Contest which includes student’s grades. March will focus on kindness and April will focus on Teachers nominating students for getting caught in the act of doing something good. JSEC is so thankful to be working with the Feinstein Foundation to improve the lives of our students and their families.
