Interview with 360 Principal-Mrs. Tuttlebee

Q. What did you do before you became Principal at JSEC?
A. She became a principal because she believes being a leader and a Principal is the best
way to make a positive impact to the youth and community and being a Principal is the
best way to do so.
Q. What did you do for work prior to becoming a Principal?
A. Ms. Tuttlebee started teaching at a pre-school and moved her way up to elementary school,
she also taught at a dual language school for 10 years.
Q. Can you give us 3 words to describe you?
A. She describes herself as caring, determined, and silly.
Q. What are your thoughts of two schools being in one building?
A. Ms. Tuttlebee shared having to share a school is all she knows since 360 was opened as new school starting
at Hope High School where they shared the building. She thinks that there are a lot of
benefits and challenges, but thinks the benefits outweigh the challenges because having
two smaller schools sharing resources can have a positive impact.
Q. What’s one interesting thing you can let readers know about 360?
A. She shared something uniquely interesting about 360 was it was designed by students for students . The students had a lot of great ideas to make High School better for them and they wanted to
create a school where youth can bring ideas and opinions to the table while creating a better
environment for them.
Q. What is just one of the biggest challenges facing 360 this year?
A. She expressed the biggest challenge for her this school year is 360 changing their academic program trying and engaging students even more.
Q. If you had one super power what would it be?
A. She said she would be a mind reader because she is super curious and is always wondering what people are thinking.
Q. What’s the one issue in the world today that you feel is most important to address?
A. The most serious issue that she thinks is effecting the world today is poverty and
inequity of resources globally because there such an economic gap between the social
classes. She also expressed seeing tons of people everyday who can’t provide for themselves or
their families due to inequity on many levels.
Q. Why do 360 and JSEC have different schedules?
A. The bell schedules are different because 360 has Hub (an advisory period) everyday and JSEC
only has advisory on Fridays which makes JSEC classes shorter on Fridays and 360
classes even shorter daily. They want to make sure the schedules are consistent,
predictable, but also flexible.
Q. What’s one thing you would like 36o to know about JSEC?
A. She would like JSEC to know that 360 respects JSEC and that they are happy to share
space and doesn’t want JSEC to think that 360 is taking over. She wants to always find the
best way both schools can continue to work together.
Q. What type of things do you see 360 and JSEC doing together to bring students and staff together?
A. She has talked to JSEC’s event leader and is hoping for joint dances and after school
opportunities. She is open to a joint committee consisting of both schools to have leaders on to do even more.
