67 Trend
By Elianny Santos
What does 67 mean? Well it’s a number that teenagers made a trend to say, but what’s the real meaning for 67. Where did it come from? And why is it a trend…
It all started when an American Rapper named Jemille Edwards, (born June 3, 1999), known professionally as Skrilla, dropped a music video called (Doot Doot 67) where he has a line, saying 67!
Adding to the song a basketball player named Lamelo Ball got a meme for being 6 foot 7 inches tall making him fall in the category of 67 trend.
In many schools across the country 67 has taken the numbers and created kids doing different hand motions as well. Anywhere the two numbers are close to 6 and 7 together, and sometimes announced, it often leads to laughing and giggling moments for kids.
The “6 7” trend starting getting more popular when a kid named Mason screamed it out at a basketball game, all the kids across the world jumped on the bandwagon and started saying ‘6 7’ for fun. For elementary school kids it’s a trend that followed in school as a meme, as a joke like why was six afraid of seven?
For other people in world it doesn’t have a meaning it’s just two numbers, although some people say it means average. ‘6 7’ does not really have a meaning it’s just a meme, created by a song, then made for thousands memes for the internet. After all what’s after 5, ‘6 7’!
According to Microsoft Co-Pilot, the phrase ‘6 7’ has become a popular slang expression, that is used to convey feelings or inside jokes. It is considered nonsensical and is used humorously in casual conversations that feel a bit quirky but can be seen as cool at the same time.
This story was originally going to have “6 or 7” paragraphs but we decided to expand that to to “8 or 9” in hopes that perhaps we could begin an “8 9” new trend.
